hi,

I am looking for reference of operating oil and gas processing facilities in extreme cold climates (Lowest ambient temperature at -36°C), where indirect cooling is justified and implemented over to air coolers with winterising facilities. Can anybody give some reference or links, so that I can contact them.

Regards,
Chandra

What sort of indirect cooling are you referring to? What kind of utilities you have available in that particular area (e.g. tempered water system, closed-loop cooling water system)?

As far as I know, air coolers are still considered as indirect type of coolers since there is no direct contact (fluid-to-fluid) between ambient air and process stream.

Glycol water system is what at present I am considering over the winterised air coolers. Have you come across any project, where it is justified to consider the glycol water system over to air coolers (for the extreme cold climate)?
