Hello

My project is to simulate hydrogenation methyl ester to fatty alcohol. The kinetic of hydrogenation of methyl ester to fatty alcohol is an important information to simulate, but it is difficult to find. Somes give only activated energy or order of reaction. Some proposed the reaction rate, give activated energy and pre exponential factor of coconut ester; however, it didn't say that coconut ester is methyl laurate. (Handbook of commercial catalysts: hetergeneous catalysts)

How can I get the kinetic of hydrogenation of methyl ester to produce fatty alcohol?

Thanks

Dear,
The only way to solve your problem is find the kinetics of the reaction in leading journals. I am sure it would be available. In few seconds time I got the link and I am giving it for you, just find it below,
http://www.springerl...12x459304311u1/

I find some articles which I am uploading here. Hope it helps you.

Thank you for journals about kinetic of hydrogenation methyl ester to fatty alcohol.

I'm sorry to reply this post very lately.

I read them all and they are useful for my thesis. But my condition is similar to lurgi condition so it is not supercritical condition.

So I tried to find the kinetic again and found in the Handbook of Commercial Catalysts: Heterogeneous Catalysts. But it say that the reaction kinetic depends on concentration of ester (%wt) and pressure of hydrogen (atm). So the rate is 1/hr.

The reaction kinetic is in attached file.

How can I use this kinetic with balance of plug flow reactor (dF/dV=r)? Because balance of plug flow reactor rate is mol/cm3s.

Kind Regards
