Dear All,

I am designing cooling water piping to SANS 719 grade B and SANS 62. Can anyone explain the differences between ANSI and SANS? Further does anyone have tables for SANS 719 grade B & SANS 62 depicting the pipe nominal bore, pipe ID, pipe OD?

Thank you in advance.

Regards

Travesh,

SANS 719 grade B is south african standard for welded pipe. Check out www.stewartsandlloyds.co.za

Looks suitable for cooling water application, the steel grade ensures good galvanisibility by limiting the silicon and phosphorus content of the steel (apparently). Pipe O.D. and nominal bore is same as ANSI/ASME, it comes in range of wall thickness. SANS/SABS 62 is equivalent to ASTM A53 (Grade A)
DIN 2440 and DIN 2441, and BS 1387. Good Luck
