Hi everyone,

We are beginning to design a well head gathering system. A typical PFD (attached) of a well head has been given as a guideline. As you can see the choke valve is directly connected to the wing valve flange before the Shut Down valve. I have seen the choke valve installed a few feet down stream after Shut Down valve. The latter give flexibility to tie in of flow lines to well head.

Please give your comments/ advise on both arrangements. Advantages/disadvantages of both from your experience.

Hi,

Being a low pressure well less than 1400 psi the above arrangement is fit for pupose as per recomendation.
