Good Evening,

I'm hoping someone with a coal feeder knowledge will be reading this thread.

I'm wanting to specify a gravimetric feeder...but I'm unsure on how to specify its feedrate...it would need to be variable type (of course)...is there a way of determining the feedrate (approximately) given the calorfic value of the fuel. I.e. 5800 kcal/kg and the size of my unit I.e. 660MW.

I could produce other data if needed.

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Regards
Justin Heath

660MW is equivalent to 567497700 Kcal/hr. If coal moisture content is constant throughout, with 5800 kcal/kg calorific value, feed rate will 97.844 tons/hr.

If coal firing unit power has to be changed to different MW, input calculation in PLC and the output will become the new setpoint for weigh belt feeder.

I hope this is what you are looking for.

Thank you ever so much Mahesh...I knew I was there somewhere, was just unsure of the math.

Thanks again.
