I am trying to size several heat exchangers for one of my Class project. I have the inlet and outlet flowrates and component flowrates of the process stream. I am trying to use mps in one of the exchangers as the utility stream to heat up my system. I am using Chem Cad as my simulation software.

I have all the information like temp and pressure of the inlet and outlet of my process stream.
I am trying to size my exchanger, like find:

a) duty
b) area
c) number of tubes (for shell and tube exchanger) which would be easier if I find the area but I have not been able to simulate the process in chemcad. Some help on it or any ideas would be greatly helpful!!!!! - or any books you all can refer to???

I cannot find the flow rate of my utility stream too

you know all the details about the process stream(inlet-outlet temp, pressure, composition) and about the utility stream (pressure, temp) so its fairly easy to calculate the duty. try process heat transfer by D Q kern.
