Dear forum,
I just got admitted into Montana State University - bozeman major in chemical engineering. I am an international transfer student and have earned > 50 credit hours. I am curious to hear about your thoughts and opinions about this university, especially its chemical engineering department. how are this uni's academic, and internship experiences, and so on? You can tell me anything you know about this University.
In addition, If I could maintain my cgpa > 3.2 prior my graduation, will I get a good reputation after graduating from this uni ? I mean, will I get a job easily anywhere after graduate?
Thank you so much for your time Guys.

Patrik:
Please read the attached pdf file, regarding 50 of the outstanding Chemical Engineers in what is described as the “Foundation Age” – that time in past history when Chemical Engineering entrenched and significantly made itself a recognized and respected profession. Turn to page 3 and carefully read about Mr. Mott Souders, Jr. Never forget that name; it will return and reinforce your Chemical Engineering studies as you make your way through Unit Operations – specifically Distillation and tower design.
I went to Texas A&M when it had a student body of 8,000 cadet students. I can identify with the size of Montana State University, although I’ve never been there and know few details about its ChE program. However, as I have stated so many times in this Forum, the university doesn’t make the graduate; the graduate makes the university. I still believe in that theorem and point to Mott Souders as proof of what I say. I can’t say anything bad about a university that produced a Mott Souders. I can only have respect for an institution that produced the likes of Mott and hope that it will repeat in producing similar products.
You ask: “will I get a good reputation after graduating from this uni ? I mean, will I get a job easily anywhere after graduate?” And I say: don’t worry about what job market awaits you and what compensation you will enjoy in the future. Concentrate on becoming an exceptional engineer by your application to your studies and grades and the rest will take care of itself. Learn to listen and seek perfection in your engineering studies and experiences and you will do just fine. The future will adapt itself to you and your contributions to society. There are always opportunities for those engineers who opt not to take the “easy” road to success but rather persevere with work and self-application to difficult and taxing challenges. Success will seek you out.
You are privileged in walking in the footsteps of a fellow like Mott Souders. Follow his example and you can’t go wrong.
Good Luck.
