Dear all,

We are required to consider seal pots for all water stoarge steel tank.Overflow pipe from water tank from top will go in to seal pot & then from the sides of seal pot one pipe will further get down to sump pit.

Can any body suggest me how to design it.

Regards,
Ashish

Ashish,

If you did attach the sketch showing the configuration, it could be helpful to submit better suggestion.

Anyway, generally for atmospheric storage tanks, the overflow pipe after going downward up to near ground level to go upward around 1000-1500 mm (depends on tank design pressure) and then it should be get down to drain system. If a pot to be used, the 1000-1500 mm is elevation difference between overflow inlet nozzle at the bottom of the pot and the outlet nozzle at the top of pot. The outlet of vent to be connected to the outlet line of the pot should be higher than any connected source of drainage.

Fallah is correct. Without a detailed sketch of your system and a seal pot, we would be wasting a lot of words and time without really making progress towards an engineering solution.
