I am working on a up gradation project of a Refinery. We have Several tie-in from the existing header. I just want to know that, what is the criteria of the providing Car-seal Open/Close valve. I am mainly conscerend about the Cooling water supply tie-in, HP boiler feed water (supplied to de-superheater and waster heat reboiler), LP Boiler feed water (to de-superheater), Steam High pressure and low pressure.
The valve present at tie-in point of the these services should be provided Car-seal open or not.
Thanks in advance.

Shah Khan,

In general, if the possibility of inadvertent opening/closing of mentioned valves by operators have been a major issue they should be provided with CSO/CSC facilities.
