Dear All,

I am working on one onshore project for installing oil in water analyzer to analyze oil content (ppm) downstream to atmospheric plate interceptor (API), treated water coming out from API send to sea via open channel (trench).
I am intended to install oil in water analyzer downstream to API in the open channel, but facing problem for methodology (general practice) use to take tapping from open channel due to possibility of non homogeneous mixture oil layer may float at upper side.

Seeking your guidance to know how could I take a tapping to measure correct oil in water concentration through analyzer.

Thanks and Regards,

arvind

Yes. You are right. Installing an analyser at the open channel for oil analysis will not get accurate result. To get accurate result, the best place is to install the analyser at the immediate discharge of the API. You may use a small tubing to route the water to your analyser.
