Dear All,

I hope you are in good health. I am just junior commissioning Engineer. I want to know the calculation procedure of steam for piping network blowing.

Majorly:

Pressure

Temperature

Velocity

Thank you

I will refer you to Crane's Technical Paper 410. Google it. Buy it, ASAP. It is THE best, most concise, most practical guide to flow of fluids I have found. Do not loan it out. It will not come back. It is THAT good. I'm on my 3rd one in 33 years for this very reason.

G'Day ssengr62
Not sure of the values, but if the pipes are not insulated there will be a fair bit of condensate intially. I suggest keep the pipe lengths not too long and condensate is drained at any low points otherwise you'll get 2 phase flow and fluid hammer and banging etc. Also, keeping the pressure not too high and so not too hot is safer for hose connections and safer for the people.
