Good Day All, pls i need your help to:

(1) Get a detailed understand of C6+ Compound in a Gas composition. Does it mean that C6+ also refers to C6, C7, C8 ,C9 e.t.c if  for instance i have a mole percent of C6+ as 0.02, what is the mole percent for C7, C8,C9 e.t.c

(2) Please what does Wobbe Index stands for?

Thanks All....

c6+ refers to all the stuff heavier than c6, it doesnt tell you the individual heavier stuff

wiki has a nice explanation of wobbe index

C6+ represents heavy components with the molecular weight of C6 and higher. They are lumped because the individual components were not seen as important to specify. If the breakdown is important to know, you will need an analysis. For engineering work, first substitute C6 then C8 for the C6+. If it does not make a significant difference in the answer, then the exact composition is not important.

Wobbe Index is a way to characterize fuel. Burners are made for a defined density gas with a defined heating value. If these parameters vary too much from design, the flame may not burn acceptably. Wobbe Index is used as a way to compare gases of different compositions from the perspective of the burner. For example, burners on stove tops are made for methane or propane. To switch between these gases, you may need to put a different tip on the burner.

C6+ sums up the mol% of components higher than C6 . However, in case of detecting mole% higher than C6 separately then you have to split C6+ in C7, C8, C9, for which separate GC would be used. Knowing of split range of C6+ normally importnat in case where hydrocarbon dew point control is being controled at plant.

Wobbe Index as defined above is correct, in addtion to above, this plays an important role in gas tuibine operation to analyze the effciency of turbine
