Dear Friends

I have a part of P&ID for dehydration outlet gas filter coalescer.

Have anyone known the reason for level instruments on upper side of coalescer?

Regards.

There is a separate chamber for the filter elements. Go to the Peerless site and check out a drawing.

Thanks Bobby

But why is the reason for liquid level at upper side?

I think coalescer will cause tiny droplets adhere and collect at bottom of the filter.

There is a separate chamber for the filter elements. Go to the Peerless site and check out a drawing.

Ali-Jabbaran,

There will be liquid collection on the tube-sheet. Please note that the flow in the filter separator is from inside to outside of the filter elements. Whatever liquid that coalesces while flowing through the filter elements will form a liquid level on the tubesheet since the tubesheet is sealed from the bottom section (feed inlet). Refer the attached sketch:

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Ankur.

Dear Ali,

As there are chance of the liquid carry over ( E.g Liquid Carryover will be less than 0.1 US gal/MMSCF).

For equipment sizing we have to consider this requirement. However, It is depend upon the equipment manufacturer.

We had purchased from same vendor Peerless. Kindly ask vendor regarding more details.
