My advice is get someone else to do it! Pneumatic conveying is a black art. If you have to do it you really need to do some lab tests, and these may prove misleading... My experience says that whatever you calculate as the conveying pressure will be low, make sure you have plenty of margin between the calculated operating pressure and the design pressure of the equipment as you will probably end up operating at a higher pressure.
More practically, I've used a book 'Pneumatic conveying of solids' by Klinxing, Marcus et al, ISBN 0-412-72440-5, which I found quite useful. I did design one simple system myself following procedures in the book and it works adequately, although at lower rates than expected. Obviously, I cannot copy and post extracts from the book due to copyright.
But seriously, contract in a company who do this for a living, they have the tools, experience and pilot/test facilities to get something that will work, and you have a contract to fall back on if it doesn't.
