I have been working on a project in the scotch whisky industry. Part of my project included looking into pressure and vacuum relief of pot stills. After discussion with a number of professionals in this sector I have been told that seal pots are the optimum choice for protection against both vacuum and over-pressure. Now I understand the concept of how the seal pot works but I cannot find any legislation or literature that discusses the use of seal pots in distilleries?
Does anyone know of any literature that specify their use and requirements?
Cheers
