Hi All,

 

Currently woring in a subsea pipeline job, involves production, gas lift and water injection pipelines integrating process and remote platforms. The major concern in subsea pipelines are hrdrate, wax formation, solid deposits & slug formation. i could understand all the problems and measures to mitigate it effectivley except slugging on pipeline. Though, i have gone through couple of articles, appropriate reason for slugging issues on pipelines are not clear.

 

Pls guide elaborately how it occurs, what are all the reasons? how it can be controlled?

 

If any article or reference is available, pls share with me.

Googling will provide lots of materials would be helpful for you in slug flow field....

 

"Flow Assurance - A System Perspective" is one of those useful references you can find it via Googling...

Thanks for guidance, i expect some practical or project expereince how the slug flow measured and mitigated from industrial experts.

 

Rather going through the articles, real time examples would give good idea of slug occurence.
