Hi,
My company would like to buy a Aspen Hysys License, stand-alone type (not network). The need is for just one person. Does anyone know what would be the license price for it?
Thank you.

Why don't you give them a call? You might want to check similar software, too.

The best option is for you to contact them directly and ask for the price:
Best regards.

nowadays there are many different simulators available,
if the price has some importance (as it would seem from your question)
why do not compare ?

Give them a call, and you may be able to have a trial version to boot.
That said, I was told (so take it with a HUGE grain of salt) that a stand alone license back in 2008 would cost you roughly around 30 to 50 thousand USD per license per year.

I agree with Dacs, a standalone license will cost 30-50 USD/year depending on the packages - steady state and/or dynamic simulation solutions. A Unisim license would be much cheaper it does the same thing and also looks the same. I have some experience using HYSYS as well as Honeywell UniSim design and would recommend UniSim over HYSYS. HYSYS has a lot of unnecessary licensing restrictions, tokens, dongles, maintaining a HYSYS server, issues with time sync etc for network installations. Moreover, HYSYS seems to be much more heavy/resource hungry. Unisim (R430) is lighter and also has many UOP reactors etc. and more items on the Object Palette, also it has some cool and useful features like shaded bars indicating valve openings, level in tanks etc. which HYSYS (v7.3) lacks. That being said I have heard from a senior engineer at my company that HYSYS is more powerful for steady state simulation, my experience with these two is with dynamic simulation. Also with AspenTech's planned takeover of KBC, Petrosim's rigorous models could be integrated into HYSYS.
