we have P.S.A unit for nitrogen generation of 200 NM3/Hour Production. Two no of Towers filled with Carbon Molecular Sieve (CMS) is used in PSA Unit. The Same Unit is in operation for last 12 years but now Purity of Nitrogen is deteriorating (Crossing 0.5% Of Max Limit). I want CMS to get it tested by third party for its performance. Is there any party in INDIA or any where in world avaiable which can do performance test of CMS ??. let me know if possible.

Hi ,
12 years shelf live for CMS is very long . Seems to me that you need to replace the bed ( based on my experience with similar equipment/ gas) . I guess you have a way to measure the purity of N2 or O2 and your supplier should be able to give you guarantee .
Hope this helps

Dear Sir
i need some guidelines on how to replace tne CMS with a fresh one. Thanks in advance

The method I've always used to load adsorbent charges into fixed beds is by utilizing a "sock" and funnel contraption that can be "home-made" in your industrial plant or locally - depending on your situation and size of the adsorbent beds. I used it for many years and never had any dusting, attrition, or adsorbent damage while loading in this manner.
If you are not familiar with the method, I would have to generate a sketch, showing how to fabricate it and how it is used. Let me know and I will try to find time to draw a sketch.
I have never heard of a "CMS". Molecular Sieves are synthetic zeolites, specifically fabricated for a given pore size range. Carbon is not a component in the zeolite, although carbon by itself is an adsorbent - especially of certain odors and hydorcarbons. What specifically is your "CMS" composed of? What is its propensity for dusting or attrition.
Breizh is, in my experience, precisely correct. Twelve years is far more than any adsorbent life that I have ever experienced, read, or heard about. I would highly suspect that you have depleted the useful life of the adsorbent.

Dear Montemayor
The CMS means carbon molecular sieve it is used to produce nitrogen from dry air.I would be very grateful if you could send me the sketch , showing how to fabricate it and how it is used. .Thaks so much for your help.

Dear Montemayor
I am talking about the sketch concerning the funnel used to load the carbon molecular sieve.
