I am working on a gas sweetening plant and venting acid gases containing 99% CO2 and 1% H2S in air. We are using a vent stack of 250 feet height for this purpose. We want to carry out maintenance job on this stack and would use a flare stack of 100 feet for venting purpose. Will it be safe for venting H2S gas at this height?

You cannot use the 100 feet flare for venting. Since the dilution will be less. You can refer ASHRAE handbook on Heating, Ventilating, and Air-Conditioning Application, chapter 44 (2007 edition).

Hi ,

A dispersion model will give you the answer . You may find tools using Google.

As stated above I 've the " feeling " that is not achievable .

Those materials are very harmful.

Good luck
