hi
In my work place iam encountering a severe problem. The problem is that we are using DMF(Di Methyl Formamide) as a solvent in our process. But the moisture content in the solvent should not exceed 0.5%. When we are distilling the same we are getting DMF with more than 2 or 3%. so that we are unable to reuse that. resulting we are mixing it with effluent and going for fresh one in next batch .so that overheads are increasing and processing of effluent is becoming burden. Can anybody suggest the effective method to remove the traces of moisture .

shall i go for adsorption for the same thing. If so which one can i use

Is there any problem with the distillation? I mean was distillation column designed for the specific purpose and now that you are not getting the output?

Depending on ur quantity of DMF handled per day, U can opt for Molecular Sieve drying.
Thats the best solution for drying of organics for this level of moisture content.

I dont fully understand your question but could you prevent the moisture entering, rather than removing it once it is in the solvent.
