Please do suggest some books or article on the method to calculate the approach to equilibrium of a primary reformer catalyst

You may download the file in the below link and make a program in excel then vary you temperature (equilibrium) till you get similar methane slip as you are getting from your reformer outlet. Then take the difference between your actual temperature and equilibrium temperature.
