Binary Interaction Parameters

Currently I’m working on an excel sheet that uses Ping-Robinson EoS to calculate Z factor. The difficulty I’m encountering is that i couldn’t be able to calculate the interaction parameters, instead i had to take them directly from Aspen Hysys. However, i’d like to know how these parameters have been calculated?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
Let you try to get a copy of : The Properties of Gases and Liquids, Fifth Edition Bruce E. Poling, John

BIPs or Binary Interaction Parameters are calculated from experimental VLE / LLE / SLE etc. data,
good sources are DDB (Dortmund Data Bank), Dechema etc.
to calculate these values you need a data regression utility,
the free version of Prode Properties (see prode.com) allows to calculate these parameters (from vapor-liquid liquid-liquid and solid-liquid points) for many thermodynamic models including for example Peng-Robinson, Soave-Redlick-Kwong, Lee-Keesler-Plocker, Benedict-Webb-Rubin and several others including many variants...
Note that many values are also distributed within Dechema and similar sources...

Hi,
In addition to my reply , consider the resource attached :

Hope this is helping you and others.
