Hi, are there an reliable links or references for finding out relative cost of materials for construction of equipment. Mostly interested in carbon steel vs  borosilicate glass but any info on SS 316 or hastelloy is also welcome. I found some references for steel but nothing on glass and relatively how expensive/cheap it is compared to carbon steel. need to know specific costs(cost per weight) for these materials when used to fabricate say an exchanger or a reactor etc at industrial scales

Hi,

You will find some raw data in the document attached .

Other resources :

Perry's Chemical engineers' handbook ,

plant design and economics for chemical engineers by Max Peters & Klaus Timmerhaus.

Good luck
