I have a slurry of animal dung mixed with 2 parts of water in an underground tank. In the slurry there are animal feed fibers.

I want to mix and transfer the slurry using pump. We tried different submersible pumps but they clog over time.

What's the most suitable type of pump at a reasonable cost?

I use PVC piping PN6 for transfer

Hi,

Google Pig tail pump, this can handle slurry.

Not sure whether it's suitable for your application.

I have used progressive cavity pumps to pump limestone slurry for power plants, pulp slurry for paper mills, and waste water slurries for waste treatment facilities before, it is a very common pump to use when thick aqueous mixtures are present.  Typical the liner is an elastomer or other soft material.  The trick is selecting the right liner for the application. for both chemical and abrasive resistance.  Problem is if the pump runs dry you may ruin the liner and have to repace it which is rather expensive.  Would need dry running protection controls.
