Hi,
My question is ,
1. Why distillation column overhead has two psv which has almost same set points i.e psv1= 4.5ksc , PSV2 = 4.6ksc

Possibilities for the reason for two PSVs: plant might switch between them for maintenance or one was not large enough for the scenario. The close set points may be a mistake. Somewhere there should be calculations for the required pressure relief of this column. If you find them, report your conclusions so we can learn also.

What do you mean 'set point'? Set pressure? Cold differencial test pressure? Has those been designed&installed at the same time? Are those identical?

What jurisdiction? ASME or PED?

Hi,

It might one PSV is operating and another is standby, if so there would be no problem for minor difference between set points.

Please upload a snap shot of the PSVs arrangement from relevant PID to get a more proper response...
