Dears,

I am working conventional thermal power plant and we are providing steam with different pressure, I am trying calculate how much water and fuel we can save if we use more extraction instead of keeping pressure reduction station opened. W need to reduce our DEMI plant consumption.

Open extraction to satisfy the headers downstream.
Cut back let down or close if you can while keeping headers in control.
Extraction header should be primary controller for downstream header demand.
Do you have any steam vent open?
What’s holding the system to not let extraction satisfy the downstream headers?
If you try above and optimize demand and supply the steam gen should downfire.
Take note of pre and post findings. It’s a multipart exercise and requires lot of data collection and analysis.
