Hello,

First of all I want to congratulate all of you for this forum. I've discovered it today and liked it very much.

I would like to hear your oppinion for the following: we have scrubbers that "wash" the carbon monoxide from a gas stream with alkaline solutions (NaOH, for instance):

CO2+2NaOH->Na2CO3+H2O wink.gif

My question is:

Will the scrubber be effective in removing CO from this stream (i.e. is the reaction CO+2NaOH-> Na2CO3+H2 possible?)? blink.gif

Thank you very much in advance,
