I Want to start learning simulation software like Aspen,Aspen plus, htri and hysis etc....
can anyone guide me how can i start learing this software.
i do not know anything about this softwares.
where to start, what is the basic knowledge required before learning this software.
is it necessary to learn C/C++ And autocad before learning these softwares.
i have find that few private institue here in india, MIT-PUNA and IIT-mumbai has running these programs.but they run the program for fewdays say 8 to 14 days.
so is it sufficient days for learing one by one all theese softwares??
Also is it ok to learn only one simumation program like aspen or have to learn all aspen, aspen plus, htri or say hysis.

basically i m working in the private sector, petrochemical company in india and have 6 years of experience.
my company has these softwares avilable but these softwares are using by techanical department and i m woking in shifts so it is not possible for me to learn there.for that i have to wait till i will transfer to the techanical department.and i will tell u frankly that the chances are very less.

can anybody give me the proper guideline on my quarries.

I do recognise this problem. Working in production jobs has its drawbacks, but you will learn a lot. I suggest that you conecntrate on the job you have in hand. How long have you been in this production job? If you have 4-5 years in this profile, then it may be time to think of changing the job. India offers woderful opportunties for consultants nowadays. It is not too difficult to break into a consultancy, but you may to compromise on the pay or location.

I would advise that as learning simulation is not a trivial task, it may be worthwhile to change careers, if that is what you want.

Production offers wonderful career opportunities, while consultancies have their drawbacks too. So be careful of what you wish for.

Regards

Dear friend,
Learning chemical engineering simulation packages is not very tough as much you think. There is an authenticated training centre india (pune) by aspentech. you can get more details in their authenticated website also regarding training schedule, venue, etc. And knowing to me another one private concern named cpc simulation (in pune, india)which is commercially conducting training programs in UNISIM simulation package. But both these concerns are offering short term couses only. But onething you should be clear that getting familiarization in any simulation package doesnt come through training only. It depends on how far u are working on it. Training and induction programs can give an outline and overview about the softwares. You can get some basic ideas through them. Getting excel in that will come by solving more and more cases by urself. U can use their user guide and operators guide which is given by the trainer for the ease of learning.

Hello Saurabh,
I am not sure where you are located, but I would suggest to you take a training course in process simulations on HysysSimulationsPlatform. Please refer to the link http://www.aproctek....ningCourses.htm. I have attached a brochure of our course in Process Design and Simulations. You may write to me at aproctek@gmail.com. We will surely find a mutually convenient duration. I would sugegst to you not to go for the courses that are conducted on the basis of 'batches' of tens of hundreds of students. Such courses are seldom useful for the benefit of each and every individual. Our courses are conducted on one-to-one basis. I look forward to hear from you. Best regards.
