Good day Everyone

I need a phase diagram for an ethanol-water system which includes the ice phase for a research project. I've not been able to get one.

If anyone has any information on where i can find one or if anyone has one , it will be greatly appreciated.

You realize that ethanol-water are completely miscible. You will not get two liquid phases no matter what you do. I don't know if the term "phase diagram" has any meaning when there aren't two liquid phases.

In generic terms, a phase diagram can show equilibrium between any number or type of phases. liquid-liquid equilibrium phase diagrams are only one type of phase diagram. For example, P-x-y diagrams are a type of phase diagram that show equilibrium between vapor and liquid phases. A eutectic diagram shows equilibrium between solid and liquid phases.

I don't know if this will help, but Stanley Walas in Phase Equilibria in Chemical Engineering (if you can find a copy, I understand it is out of print) has a phase diagram for methanol + water (figure 5.13) at 1 atm showing dew point and bubble point curves, and solid-liquid equilibria curves. Other than knowing if and where any hydrates form, I would expect ethanol + water to have a qualitatively similar look.

There should be enough activity coefficient data out there to generate your own phase diagram, except, as I noted, for knowing if and where any hydrates may form. Depending on what sort of "research project" you are doing, that might be good enough.
