HI all,

Natural gas obtained from some wells is often contaminated with nitrogen which decreases its heating value. In order to meet the pipeline requrement the heating value should be above 950 btu/ft3.

I have come across a project where natural gas contains 69% nitrogen, 20% methane, 10% CO2 (mole%).

Can anyone suggest the method for removing such high quantity of nitrogen?
The litrature data which I found for PSA as well as membrane separation is for 20-30 mole% nitrogen (max. 50%) in the feed

If anyone knows such process which can handle such a large proportion of nitrogen, please let me know.

I forgot to mention that the heating value of the natural gas is to be upgraded to only 550 btu/ft3 for use in power generation
