Chemsep is technically advanced distillation column software and generally works well. The equilibrium model is available for free from their web site http://wwww.chemsep.com. This has a few limitations (such as maximum of 10 components). The full version is not free, and includes a non-equilibrium model that is rather advanced. Chemsep can be used stand-alone, or via CAPE-OPEN in most major steady state simulation platforms. For example in COCO simulator (http://www.cocosimulator.org).
