Hi, i work on a very old system which uses fuel gas to strip oxygen from water. New technology uses N2. Is there any calcs available to allow a comparision between nitrogen sparaging and methane (fuel gas). I suspect gas is more efficent but isn't used now as its not very enviromentaly friendly but don't know as can't find any way to compare. vendors are no assitance as they only quote for new systems.

any help would be great

David:

For what it is worth, removing oxygen from steam boiler feedwater is almost always done by stripping with low pressure steam. So you might want to consider that option as well.

Hi. You might want to consider oxygen scavengers.
